This unit describes the skills and knowledge required to perform cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) in line with the Australian Resuscitation Council (ARC) guidelines.
This course provides participants who may be required to provide CPR, in a range of situations, including community and workplace settings.
This includes calling for help, the ability to respond to first aid situations, casualty assessment, decision making and basic life support functions including Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR). This course covers adult and child conditions.
Completing an accredited first aid course has never been so enjoyable, with our one-day class suitable for those needing workplace approved training or for those who want to know what to do ‘just in case’.
With First Aid participants can be Aged 14 and above.
Participants under the age of 18 are required to provide a consent form completed by their legal guardian. This form can be found here.

Express Courses (most popular)
These courses are delivered partially online in your own time and with a short
face-to-face session (1.5 hours)
Standard Courses
These courses are delivered completely face-to-face in class.
Longer course times are required (2.5 hours)
Students are required to arrive at least 10 minutes prior to the course commencement or will be refused entry.
Participants are required to attend 100% of this first aid training and successfully demonstrate competence in all assessment activities.
There are no prerequisites for this course; however it is recommended that participants have sufficient English language and visual interpretation skills to successfully complete the first aid training.
Those completing the express version will need access to a computer or tablet to complete the eLearning component. Internet access is required.
Participants will also be required to undertake practical training and assessments at floor level. This includes demonstrating CPR on a manikin for a period of two minutes. If you have poor mobility or a current injury please discuss this with us prior to booking.
Clothing: We suggest that you wear comfortable casual clothing, as the practical nature of the demonstrations and practice may possibly require bending, kneeling and lying on the floor. Pants and flat shoes are recommended.

Certification Validity
The HLTAID009 Provide cardiopulmonary resuscitation certificate is valid for 12 months. The Code of Practice and Australian Resuscitation Council recommends that cardiopulmonary resuscitation skills are refreshed annually.
