HLTAID011 Provide First Aid
This nationally accredited course is ideal for anyone looking to provide first aid training for their workplace, home, or simply as a rewarding recreational activity. Training and assessment are delivered in partnership with ABC First Aid, RTO 3399.

This course equips participants with essential knowledge and skills to effectively provide first aid and basic life support until medical professionals arrive.
Participants will learn how to call for help and respond appropriately to various first aid scenarios. The training emphasizes casualty assessment, decision-making, and fundamental life support techniques, including Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR). Additionally, the course addresses conditions affecting both adults and children, ensuring a comprehensive understanding of how to provide first aid in diverse situations.

With Provide First Aid participants can be Aged 14 and above.
Participants under the age of 18 are required to provide a consent form completed by their legal guardian. This form can be found here.
Express Course (Blended)
This course is also known as Blended Face to Face and eLearning. Participants must complete up to 2 hours of online pre-course learning prior to attending a short face-to-face assessment session. Minimum duration is 1 hour*. A current or recently expired Statement of Attainment is required for express entry.
Standard Course (Face to Face)
This course is delivered entirely face-to-face in class. Up to 2 hours of pre-course online learning must be completed prior to attendance. Minimum duration is 6 hours.
Students are required to arrive at least 10 minutes prior to the course commencement or will be refused entry.

This course will give participants confidence and skills in how to provide first aid response, life support including Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) and management of casualty(s) until the arrival of medical or other assistance.
Participants are required to attend 100% of this first aid training and successfully demonstrate competence in all assessment activities.
Pre-course requirements: Participants must complete online pre-course learning prior to attending the face-to-face session. Login details will be provided upon enrolment. This must be completed before arrival.
There are no prerequisites for this course; however it is recommended that participants have sufficient English language and visual interpretation skills to successfully complete the first aid training.
Participants will also be required to undertake practical training and assessments at floor level. This includes demonstrating CPR on a manikin for a period of two minutes. If you have poor mobility or a current injury please discuss this with us prior to booking.
Clothing: We suggest that you wear comfortable casual clothing, as the practical nature of the demonstrations and practice may possibly require bending, kneeling and lying on the floor. Pants and flat shoes are recommended.
Language, Literacy and Numeracy (LLN) Requirements
Participants will require suitable LLN skills to complete the following tasks/skills:
- Read information from a PowerPoint and whiteboard
- Listen and understand verbal information delivered by an English-speaking trainer
- Complete written incident report forms in English
- Read and answer a multiple-choice question paper
- Read and answer a short-written answer test
- Listen to instructions of an Automated External Defibrillator where prompts are delivered in English
- Be able to count to 30
Requirements for completion
Participants need to attend 100% of this first aid training. If they can’t, please contact our office for further arrangements.
Your First Aid Trainer works with many quality Registered Training Organisations our Master Instructors all have thorough training and contracts with these RTO’s.

Statement of Attainment in the following units of competency:
- HLTAID009 Provide Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation
- HLTAID010 Provide Basic Emergency Life Support
- HLTAID011 Provide First Aid
Certification Validity
* Three (3) years from the date of issue.
(We recommend you use the email address that is still valid in 3 years time).
You are required to undertake annual CPR refresher training.
Our comprehensive student management system will remind you a month before your CPR and first aid certificate is due to be refreshed.
