Standard Course (Face to Face)
This course is delivered entirely face-to-face in class. 3 hours of pre-course online learning must be completed prior to attendance. Minimum duration is 3 hours.
Face-to-face refresher course minimum duration is 2 hours. Students must present a copy of their previous certificate for the refresher course.
Students are required to arrive at least 10 minutes prior to the course commencement or will be refused entry.
Conduct Manual Tasks Safely focuses on teaching individuals how to handle tasks involving the relocation of heavy loads, including lifting, lowering, pushing, pulling, or carrying heavy objects.
Manual handling is common across various industries and job roles. While useful in any workplace, it is especially crucial in environments like warehouses, supermarkets, offices, and particularly in healthcare settings, where safe patient handling is essential. A manual handling certification can be valuable in nearly any workplace.
Your First Aid Trainer offers a nationally accredited manual handling training course, endorsed by the Australian College of Nursing. This course is open to all students who wish to enhance their skills, knowledge, and career prospects.
There are no formal prerequisite units required for entry into this course. Participants must have the physical capacity to use appropriate equipment, posture and handling techniques to conduct a manual move and/or lift. Learners will require English language, literacy, and numeracy (LLN) skills.
Participants completing the refresher course must present a copy of their previous certificate.
Clothing: We suggest that you wear comfortable casual clothing, as the practical nature of the demonstrations and practice may possibly require bending, kneeling and lying on the floor. Pants and flat shoes are recommended.

Certification Validity
The HLTWHS005 Conduct Manual Tasks Safely certificate is valid for 12 months. The Code of Practice and Australian Resuscitation Council recommends that cardiopulmonary resuscitation skills are refreshed annually.
