The Advanced Resuscitation course, a nationally accredited program, is designed for individuals who may need to use specialized equipment to deliver resuscitation or oxygen therapy in a variety of challenging environments, such as community and workplace settings. This Advanced Resuscitation course equips participants with the essential knowledge and advanced skills in automated external defibrillation, mechanical resuscitation, and oxygen delivery. It also delves into the core principles that are critical for saving lives, in line with the Australian Resuscitation Council (ARC) Guidelines. By completing this course, you’ll gain the confidence to manage and instruct other first aiders in complex situations, whether in the community or workplace. The training also covers resuscitation techniques for both adults and children, ensuring you’re fully prepared to handle various emergencies.

The prerequisite unit required for entry into this course is HLTAID011 – Provide First Aid. Learners will require English language, literacy, and numeracy (LLN) skills.

It is recommended that participants have sufficient English language and visual interpretation skills to complete the first aid training successfully.

Participants will also be required to undertake practical training and assessments at floor level. This includes demonstrating CPR on a manikin for a period of two minutes. If you have poor mobility or a current injury please discuss this with us prior to booking.

Clothing: We suggest that you wear comfortable casual clothing, as the practical nature of the demonstrations and practice may possibly require bending, kneeling and lying on the floor. Pants and flat shoes are recommended.

Minimum Age
First Aid participants can be Aged 14 and above.

Participants under the age of 18 are required to provide a consent form completed by their legal guardian.

Requirements for completion
Participants are required to attend 100% of this first-aid training and successfully demonstrate competence in all assessment activities.

Standard Course (Face to Face)

This course is delivered entirely face-to-face in class. Up to 4 hours of pre-course online learning must be completed prior to attendance. Minimum duration is 6 hours.

Students are required to arrive at least 10 minutes prior to the course commencement or will be refused entry.

Certification Issued
Your First Aid Trainer works with many quality Registered Training Organisations our Master Instructors all have thorough training and contracts with these RTO’s.

Certification Validity
* 12 months from the date of issue.
(We recommend you use the email address that is still valid in 3 years time).

You are required to undertake annual CPR refresher training.
Our comprehensive student management system will remind you a month before your CPR and first aid certificate is due to be refreshed.

Participants will require suitable LLN skills to complete the following tasks/skills:

  • Read information from a PowerPoint and whiteboard
  • Listen and understand verbal information delivered by an English-speaking trainer
  • Complete written incident report forms in English
  • Read and answer a multiple-choice question paper
  • Read and answer a short-written answer test
  • Listen to instructions of an Automated External Defibrillator where prompts are delivered in English
  • Be able to count to 30
