Our nationally recognised Chief Fire Warden training course is tailored for individuals who need to assume the role of Chief or Deputy Chief Fire Warden in their workplace. This course prepares participants to make critical decisions regarding safety during emergencies and to provide clear instructions for managing emergency situations. Training and Assessment is delivered on behalf of ABC First Aid RTO 3399.

Participants will acquire skills to assess the scale of onsite emergencies and oversee the evacuation process. The course places a strong emphasis on compliance with Australian Standard 3745-2010 for Emergency Control Organisation and procedures, ensuring participants understand how these standards apply to all types of workplaces.

 

Pre-course learning is required.

Chief Fire Warden training is provided to employees responsible for performing fire safety checks and evacuations in any workplace, office or manufacturing environment. Course Duration

Face-to-face duration is up to 4 hours. Pre-course learning is required (up to 2 hours online). For paper-based delivery: up to 6 hours face-to-face.

 

Course Content

Practical Tasks – Physical Demonstrations:

  • Conduct pre-emergency planning
  • Develop and implement emergency preparedness plans
  • Function effectively as a member of an Emergency Control Organisation (ECO) during a fire emergency

Documentation – Participants are required to complete the following to the specified standards:

  • Emergency equipment fault log
  • Emergency evacuation incident and debrief form
  • Facility emergency plan (extract)
  • Incident report

Theory Assessment:

  • A written assessment comprising multiple-choice questions

Participants will gain a thorough understanding of emergency procedures and engage in practical drills to manage workplace emergencies effectively. The course includes hands-on scenarios that simulate real workplace situations and the use of emergency evacuation equipment. For group training, the Australian Training Institute can customize the course to meet your specific workplace needs, covering the following topics:

Suitable for individuals, workplaces of all sizes, and volunteer and community-based groups.

Pre-requisite: Participants must hold PUAFER005 Operate as part of an emergency control organisation prior to enrolling in this course.

Language, Literacy and Numeracy (LLN) Requirements
Participants will require suitable LLN skills to complete the following tasks/skills:

  • Read information from a PowerPoint, Manual and whiteboard.
  • Listen and understand verbal information delivered by an English-speaking qualified fire safety trainer.
Your First Aid Trainer delivers this course in partnership with ABC Licence Training (RTO Code 3399). Upon successful completion, participants will receive a nationally recognised Statement of Attainment issued by ABC Licence Training.

Certification Validity

There is no renewal recommendation set by the industry for this course. However, regular refresher training is recommended to maintain competency.
