Fire and Safety Awareness

This course is for anyone looking to upskill their fire and safety awareness at home or in the workplace. The course is designed to equip building occupants with the skills and knowledge to prevent and respond to an emergency situation involving fire risks.

This is a non-accredited awareness course. It does not lead to a nationally recognised qualification under the Australian Qualifications Framework (AQF).

The objective of this course is to create awareness around fire safety hazards and other risks to personal safety in the workplace or communal area. The course covers recognising these risks and how to respond safely at a basic level. As an awareness course of 1 day duration this is does not include an accredited certificate.

Completing a first aid course has never been so enjoyable, with our four-hour class suitable for those needing workplace training or for those who want to know what to do ‘just in case’.

With Provide First Aid participants can be Aged 14 and above.

 

This Provide first aid course is fully delivered face-to-face in class. With our 4 hr face-to-face first aid training and assessment in class, all knowledge and practical training components are completed in-class and under the guidance and supervision of a highly experienced, qualified and accredited first aid trainer who is on hand to provide you with all the support and assistance you need.

The course has no online component and no pre-learning requirement.

Students will gain the skills and knowledge required to carry out:

  • Identifying potential  emergencies
  • Workplace reporting
  • Responding to the emergency including raising the alarm,
  • Varied  emergency responses
  • Fire principles include fire triangle, classes of fires

There are no prerequisites for this course; however it is recommended that participants have sufficient English language and visual interpretation skills to successfully complete the first aid training.

Language, Literacy and Numeracy (LLN) Requirements

Participants will require suitable LLN skills to complete the following tasks/skills:

  • Read information from a PowerPoint and whiteboard
  • Listen and understand verbal information delivered by an English-speaking trainer
  • Complete written incident report forms in English
  • Read and answer a multiple-choice question paper
  • Read and answer a short-written answer test
  • Listen to instructions of an Automated External Defibrillator where prompts are delivered in English
  • Be able to count to 30
