This awareness course is perfect for individuals working in environments that require the proper securing of plant machinery or equipment. You’ll receive hands-on training from an experienced instructor, ensuring you gain practical skills in lockout tagout procedures. All assessments are completed in person.

This is a non-accredited awareness course. It does not lead to a nationally recognised qualification under the Australian Qualifications Framework (AQF).

It covers the proper methods for securely lockout tagout plant equipment, ensuring that accidents and injuries are prevented, promoting a safer work environment.

Lock out tag out is provided to employees responsible for plant and equipment that requires safe storage. If you are unsure whether your workplace qualifies, please speak to your employer or check WorkSafe Australia for more information.

This provide first aid course is fully delivered face-to-face in class. With our 4 hr face-to-face first aid training program, all knowledge and practical training and assessment are completed in-class and under the guidance and supervision of a highly experienced, qualified and accredited first aid trainer who is on hand to provide you with all the support and assistance you need.

The course has no online component and no pre-learning requirement.

This course will give participants confidence and skills to:

 

  • Understanding the importance of locking out plant and equipment
  • Recognising the consequences of failing to lockout
  • Learning basic lock out procedures
  • Identifying the correct locations for lock outs
  • Using appropriate isolation and lock out devices
  • Exploring different methods of lock out

There are no prerequisites for this course; however it is recommended that participants have sufficient English language and visual interpretation skills to successfully complete the first aid training.

Clothing: We suggest that you wear comfortable casual clothing, as the practical nature of the demonstrations and practice may possibly require bending, kneeling and lying on the floor. Pants and flat shoes are recommended.

Language, Literacy and Numeracy (LLN) Requirements

Participants will require suitable LLN skills to complete the following tasks/skills:

  • Read information from a PowerPoint and whiteboard
  • Listen and understand verbal information delivered by an English-speaking trainer
  • Complete written incident report forms in English
  • Read and answer a multiple-choice question paper
  • Read and answer a short-written answer test
  • Listen to instructions of an Automated External Defibrillator where prompts are delivered in English
  • Be able to count to 30
